6C Company Plan

Overview

For this project, I decided to create a new plan that I will be incorporating my design techniques in. I chose MAC Cosmetics as my parent company, MAC SkinCare (fictitious) and MAC Hair Salon (fictitious). My company plan below outlines the action plan for what I am going to create.

Process

I started off by researching the company’s website and reading about their mission and goals. This way I was able to decide on their message and audience to start as my baseline. I like the original colour scheme, so thought of how I can add it to keep the subsidiaries consistent with the theme too.

I sketched out my plan first on a paper in portrait layout to see how I can manage my white space and include all my points for the company plan.

I used Microsoft Word to design my Company Plan layout. I was confused at first on how to place everything as it is different from drawing it out free hand. I started off with adding any logos and images to my page. I tried to add different shapes to create different focal points. I wanted to add images with clear background so it didn’t draw too much attention.

Critique Process

I sent my Company Plan via WhatsApp to get feedback from my classmates Zantoza and Riad. They were able to point out anything that they felt didn’t flow. They noticed that my logo wasn’t aligned properly and told me to change that. They felt that it was too busy with text, so I should add logos instead. I was able to make those changes and edits to create my final piece. I think having people critique your work is super helpful because they may notice things that you can miss.
